In October 2015, the Watercolor Society of North Carolina’s 70th Annual Exhibition will be in historic downtown Mooresville’s Depot Visual Arts Center. The exhibit will encompass the train depot, which will provide plenty of room to show the selected paintings. This year, Mooresville Arts (formerly Mooresville Artist Guild) will celebrate its 60th anniversary. For the past 37 years, the art guild has been located at the Mooresville Depot. The historic Depot, originally known as “Moor’s Landing”, was the site for the filming of the ending of Paper Town, a 20th Century Fox film based off of John Green’s popular novel. John Green is also the author of The Fault in Our Stars, which was released as a successful film in 2014. Many of the events surrounding the WSNC Annual Exhibition, including the Annual Business Meeting, will be held at SpringHill Suites, which is located at Exit 33 on I-77.
